Bantam Tools EggBot™

Description

The Bantam Tools EggBot™ is a compact, highly adjustable drawing machine for spherical and egg-shaped objects, creating personal, one-of-a-kind pieces of art on surfaces that are normally “impossible” to draw on.

No boring holidays, no sad sports teams, only great gifts and top notch team spirit.

Instead of being limited to flat paper, the EggBot lets you draw directly on spherical and ovoid (egg-shaped) objects like golf balls, light bulbs, ping pong balls, mini pumpkins, eggs, and other round-ish items. Add names, dates, messages, patterns, or original artwork to turn everyday objects into personal keepsakes, gifts, and display pieces.

Designed to work with standard pens and markers, the Bantam Tools EggBot™ brings your design to life with robotic precision that is a delight to watch. It’s approachable for first-timers, portable enough to bring to classrooms, studios, and community events, and rewarding for artists who want to push detail, lettering, and complex patterns into new dimensions.

Getting started is simple. Create your artwork in your favorite design software, then import SVGs into Bantam Tools Studio™ to generate EggBot-ready G-code. Export to a micro SD card and run the machine untethered using the onboard screen and controls.

Rooted in the original EggBot concept and reimagined with modern components, the Bantam Tools EggBot™ arrives fully assembled and ready to bring the magic of spherical and ovoid drawing to creative projects all year long.

Does it come with designs?

Yes. The Ornament Edition comes preloaded with holiday designs and a selection of featured artists’ works so you can start decorating right away.

Where did the EggBot come from?

The EggBot began as an art robot created by Bruce Shapiro (the “Father of the EggBot”), later developed by Evil Mad Scientist, and is now reimagined by Bantam Tools. Over the years, it has become a beloved tool for artists, educators, and families around the world.

What will I need to provide?

  • Round objects to draw on (for example ornaments, balls, or other curved items)
  • Pens or markers of your choice

How long does it take?

It depends on the design. Simple one-color graphics may take under a minute, while more complex multi-color or filled designs can take several minutes.

How do designs fit onto a sphere?

Bantam Tools Studio maps your flat SVG artwork around the ornament, just like how a world map can wrap around a globe.

Can I use it at gatherings?

Yes. EggBot is compact, portable, and can run untethered from a computer, making it perfect for holiday parties, family gatherings, or boutique events.

Do I need special inks or supplies?

No. EggBot is designed to work with the pens and markers you already own. There are no proprietary inks or consumables required. All you need are blank ornaments, which you can provide yourself or purchase from us here.

What’s the resolution of the EggBot?

The stepper motors provide sub-millimeter precision, equivalent to several hundred DPI. This allows for detailed text, line art, and intricate designs to be reproduced with accuracy.

How fast does it decorate?

Speed depends more on the complexity of your design than the size of the ornament. Simple text or graphics may take less than a minute, while complex, multi-color artwork with filled areas can take several minutes.

Does it run without a computer?

Yes. EggBot has a micro SD card slot and an onboard OLED screen, so you can prepare designs on your computer, load them onto the card, and run the machine completely untethered.
