Description

The Bantam Tools NextDraw™ 1117 SVG Player Bundle includes everything you need to start plotting 11" × 17" works, untethered from your computer. Designed for untethered operation, this setup is ideal for studios, classrooms, and production environments where scale, speed, and reliability are essential.

At the heart of the bundle is the Bantam Tools NextDraw™ 1117 pen plotter, the artist’s choice for medium-format drawing. With a spacious 11×17"/A3 plot area and a construction built from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum, it offers exceptional precision and performance. The machine supports a wide variety of drawing tools and can mark directly on materials larger than its footprint, perfect for creative professionals working across formats and mediums.

Also included is the Bantam Tools NextDraw™ SVG Player, a plug-and-play controller that eliminates the need for a tethered computer. Simply load your SVG files onto a USB flash drive and use the intuitive touchscreen to start, pause, resume, or automate batch plots. From single works to large production runs, the SVG Player keeps your workflow streamlined.

To hold your work securely, the bundle features the Tabloid/A3 Magnetic Easel. Made from powder-coated magnetic steel, it offers a stable, non-slip surface with included rulers and magnets for fast, consistent alignment. It’s designed to protect pens while keeping paper firmly in place, even during high-speed operation.

Together, these components form a complete standalone plotting solution, just load your files, hit play, and start drawing.

What's In The Box

What is the Bantam Tools NextDraw SVG Player?

The SVG Player is a standalone controller that lets you run your Bantam Tools NextDraw™ or AxiDraw plotter without a computer. Just plug in a USB drive with SVG files and start plotting.

Do I need a computer to run the SVG Player?

No; the SVG Player runs independently. No tethered computer required, just plug in a USB flash drive and go. (You do still need a computer, somewhere, to create your SVG files.)

Is it compatible with AxiDraw machines?

Yes. The SVG Player works with all Bantam Tools NextDraw™ plotters and all models of AxiDraw from Evil Mad Scientist (after a free firmware update).

Can I run files in batches?

Yes. Load a folder full of SVGs onto your USB drive and the SVG Player will automatically load files to plot them in order, one after another.

Is a USB Thumb Drive Included?

No; a USB Flash Drive is not included. The Bantam Tools NextDraw™ SVG Player is compatible with standard USB flash drives.

How do I format the USB Stick?

FAT, FAT32, or EXFAT

Does it support multi-layer or multi-color plotting?

Yes. The SVG Player supports NextDraw Layer Control syntax, allowing you to plot by layer number.

Can I track how long each plot takes?

Yes. Each plot shows a real-time progress bar with elapsed and remaining time estimates.

What file formats does it accept?

The Bantam Tools NextDraw™ SVG Player runs on SVG files. These can be exported from most vector design tools or from Bantam Tools Merge software.

Can I pause and resume a plot?

Yes. The touchscreen interface allows you to pause/resume plots at any time, and shows time tracking for both elapsed and remaining time.

Does it work with Bantam Tools Merge output?

Yes, SVG Player can take advantage of the new stack file export in NextDraw Merge to load a folder of prepared svg files to make plotting them easy.

Can multiple people use it?

While the SVG Player is designed to run only a single plotter at a time, multiple people can share the same Bantam Tools NextDraw™ SVG Player; no login is required. Each user can bring their own USB flash drive and plot. The interface is easy enough for students, gallerists, or assistants to use with just a quick introduction. For larger teams or classrooms, the system scales easily with additional units.

Is any programming required?

There is no programming required. The Bantam Tools NextDraw™ SVG Player is designed to be plug-and-play with no coding needed.

Can it help me scale handwriting or plotting production?

Absolutely. The SVG Player is a cost-effective way to run multiple plotters simultaneously without in-depth training or buying more computers.

Do you sell the software separately? Can I run it on other hardware?

No; The Bantam Tools NextDraw™ SVG Player is only available as a complete hardware/software product. Please contact sales@bantamtools.com if you need a custom solution.
