CNC Operator

All manufacturing is done in-house in our clean, and modern facility located in Peekskill, New York.

We are currently looking for a CNC Operator to join our team. Prior experience with the operation of CNC machinery is required. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, a love of learning and the ability to work as an effective team member in a highly dynamic environment. Qualified applicants must also be able to load, unload and inspect parts in accordance with dimensional specifications and be able to bend, reach, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. Basic computer skills are necessary for this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Load, run & unload computer numerical control (CNC) equipment.

  • Inspect parts in accordance with dimensional specifications.

  • Install, set-up & uninstall tools and fixtures.

  • Load and unload programs into the tool controller.

  • Setups from beginning to end including loading tooling, fixtures and programs to verifying first article parts.

  • Carefully comply with all established company processes, procedures & safety protocols.

  • Inspect, organize and clean work areas and machinery.

  • Achieve optimal productivity without compromising quality.

  • Attend and actively participate in training classes and safety sessions.

  • Perform basic machine maintenance.

Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Basic math skills

  • Basic personal computer skills.

  • Reading and writing of formal correspondence, emails, texts, and notes.

  • Effective presentation of information in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • Strong grasp of G-Code with the ability to make basic edits to programs at the controller.

  • A solid understanding of units of weight, volume, and distance.

  • The ability to carry out single or multi-step instructions.

  • Experience with machine maintenance and repair. 

  • A sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize tasks accordingly.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Advanced education

  • CNC machine operation (2 years or more)

  • Manufacturing (2 - 3 years or more)

  • Knowledge of Fanuc B Macro Language. 

  • Prior experience working with HW, firmware, CAD, CAM, or 3D technologies.

  • Ability to read part prints and possess a working knowledge of GD&T.

  • The ability to inspect parts and features to determine their compliance with the print.

  • Experience in fabrication lab or warehouse

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position in Peekskill, NY. Compensation is hourly, commensurate with experience, and includes medical benefits, paid time off, and paid holidays.
