Event Recap: SEMA Show 2022
Earlier this month, manufacturers and car enthusiasts converged at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV. If you’re in the automotive industry, the show is the place to go to see thousands of products, get the download on the latest trends, and attend professional, skill-enhancing education sessions. While exhibiting, we came across several world changers and skill builders prioritizing developing easy-to-use and reliable products and doing their part to close the skills gap. Meet the folks who took home our World Changer and Skill Builder awards.
World Changer Award: CIC Powerbox
CIC Powerbox is a family-owned company that makes affordable all-in-one power solutions that offer electric, air, and heavy-duty jump start power in the convenience of a truck toolbox. They’re goal? Promote environmentally friendly energy and safer working environments without sacrificing the power or utility needed to get the job done. They’re all about creating reliable tools and their products are used by farmers, mobile services, the military, contractors, construction crews, and more.
As soon as we saw the CIC Powerbox booth, we instantly thought about our Bantam Tools Explorer™ CNC Milling Machine and how cool it would be to simply take the mill out of the Powerbox and plug it in rather than have to lug external batteries and cords around!
Skill Builder Awards: Raised3D & Jessi Combs Foundation
The Raised3D team designs, builds, and manufactures industrial 3D printers for flexible manufacturing and offers an ecosystem of solutions. One area they’re particularly focused on is education. Getting their printers into the hands of the next generation is top of mind as they do their part to close the skills gap and provide students with tools that will teach them fundamental concepts and problem solving skills. One offering is a desktop model that comes fully enclosed, making it safe and easy to bring 3D printing into a classroom. But most importantly, Raised3D prioritizes creating support materials and other resources (like their Raised3D Academy) to help their users get started, expand their knowledge, and hone their skills.
The Jessi Combs Foundation also took home a Bantam Tools Skill Builder Award. The foundation carries on the legacy of Jessi Combs who passed away in an accident while breaking the women’s land speed record of 522.783 mph. Since 2019, the foundation has been educating, inspiring, and empowering women with the skills to enter and excel in the trades through their scholarship program. Like Jessi, these women are trailblazers and stereotype-breakers.
SEMA 2022 Global Media Award Goes to Bantam Tools
CIC Powerbox and Raised3D weren’t the only ones taking home awards. Our small but mighty team won a SEMA 2022 Global Media Award. The Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine was selected as one of the best products in this year’s SEAM Showcase that had featured over 3,000 cutting-edge products.
